you thought that HighTyde was dead, well now I am back
and there's a few things I'd like to say to you
about some things I said that may be true
about that song I wrote, "Dear Jon", I hope
he caught the joke cause was I honest? Nope!
It wasn't even about him, how could I doubt him?
He was great, but face it, look at the outcome
I was out of my state, a Michigan raised kid
who got spins on every radio station
when I said that "Card" was not a hit
I meant that me and Sparks had dropped it quick
and stations turned it down which got me ticked
I bit my lip, yup I'm an optimist
whatever new record you're spinning
has got to give them alot within it
